Check out Austin Reaves’ new AR1 ‘Hillbilly Bogey’ sneaker inspired by the golf course

Austin Reaves, the star point guard, intends to play golf for the most of the summer, while the Los Angeles Lakers will watch the remainder of the NBA Playoffs from home or from wherever they may already be on vacation. Austin Reaves is set to challenge Stephen Curry as the best NBA golfer with the release of a new colorway of his legendary Rigorer AR1 sneakers featuring a golf motif. Through his collaborations with KICKS CREW and Rigorer—where his first branded sneakers were an enormous hit—Austin Reaves’s brand has grown off the court. KICKS CREW will now release a shoe that pays homage to AR’s golf persona, Hillbilly Bogey. This comes after a prior shoe partnership for the ’17 Rings’ line on the global sneaker marketplace with Reaves. His seventh trademark release will draw inspiration from the tranquility of green golf courses and his perspective on the game.

I’ve been able to combine two of my biggest passions since the Rigorer design team has allowed me to use the AR1 as a platform to record my life’s travels. In a recent interview concerning his most recent release, Austin Reaves conveyed his sincere thanks for the chance to combine his enduring love of golf with his renowned basketball sneaker.

With its green and white color pattern, this limited edition sneaker is inspired by golf. Austin is depicted as a golfer on the inside of the tongue, and artificial grass covers the bubble lacing mechanism. More golf imagery can be seen in the heel logo, which also has the word “Eagle” etched next to the Rigorer logo. The lace-stays are a riot of red, and the outsoles are dotted with green outline designs.

Crafted to perfection according to Austin Reaves’s precise measurements, the Rigorer AR1 is a work of art. The woven cocoon upper is the shoe’s defining feature and a metaphor for Reaves’s ongoing development as a player. Designed with a low-court feel and maximum energy return in mind, the Showtime foam tech outsole uses EVA foam, just like Austin Reaves’s shoes. The shoes include top-notch traction on the outsole and several TPU plates for lockdown and ιnjury prevention in basketball sneakers.
