NBA star Ben Simmons has scored a buyer for his chic Los Angeles farmhouse, but he’s taken a multimillion-dollar loss in the deal.

The three-time All-Star and Brooklyn Nets point guard sold the contemporary abode at auction for $13.552 million—inclusive of a 12% buyer’s premium—or $12.1 million without fees.

Simmons, who was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 and raised in Australia before moving to the U.S. as a teenager, acquired the home in 2021 for $17.5 million using a limited liability company, records with PropertyShark show.

The property, in the city’s Hidden Hills neighborhood, has been on and off the market since, with an asking price ranging from $22.9 million to, most recently, $17.495 million.

Bidding began on April 18, and the estate sold prior to the auction close, with Simmons accepting an appealing bid, according to a representative for Concierge Auctions, which handled the sale alongside the Beverly Hills Estates

The deal closed last week, listing records show. A record of the transaction has yet to be made public, and as such, Mansion Global couldn’t identify the buyer.

The reclaimed-wood and charcoal-hued brick residence is replete with luxuriously rustic details, from the double-vaulted wood ceilings and walls of glass to the bespoke brass fireplace, according to the listing.

Across its 12,000 square feet the seven-bedroom house has a standout great room with marble floors, a living room and formal dining room that are divided by that custom floating brass fireplace, and a contemporary kitchen that opens out to the patio.

There’s also a professional-grade chef’s kitchen, a soundproof movie theater, a gym, and a primary suite with a fireplace, a sitting area, a walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom.

Outside, there’s a pool and spa, a poolside cabana, an al fresco dining area and a detached guest house.

Simmons, 27, played for the Philadelphia 76ers until his trade to the Nets in 2022. He couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
