Steph Curry Just Buys San Francisco Commercial Building For $9 Million!

Golden State Warriors star to relocate firm Thirty Ink to a site approved for redevelopment.

Stephen Curry has purchased a 10,000-square-foot commercial building in San Francisco for $8.5 million to establish a new hub for Thirty Ink. The property, located at 600 20th Street in Dogpatch, has been approved for redevelopment, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle. The seller was Mindful Investments, a local firm.

This acquisition, at $850 per square foot, represents a significant increase in value, nearly six times its 2021 trading price, although the previous price was not disclosed.

Thirty Ink, Curry’s off-court conglomerate, will move from its current location on Howard Street in South of Market to this new property. Curry, a four-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, wears the jersey number 30, which is reflected in the company’s name.

The company manages Curry’s eight businesses, which span athlete management, brand development, fitness, lifestyle, media, philanthropy, and technology, all aimed at “Elevating the Under,” according to a statement provided to the Chronicle.

A spokesperson for Thirty Ink expressed the company’s hopes that relocating to this “underdog” neighborhood will aid in its revitalization and transform the “underutilized” industrial area into a vibrant market-rate space.

The 0.13-acre property at the corner of 20th and Illinois Streets is within walking distance of Chase Center, the home arena of the Golden State Warriors. It is situated across the street from the historic Bethlehem Steel building, where Restoration Hardware opened in 2022.

Plans for the proposed 25,000-square-foot building at 20th and Illinois Streets include 2,680 square feet of labs, nearly 9,000 square feet of offices, and 3,300 square feet designated for “arts activities.” Additionally, a three-bedroom apartment will be located on the fifth floor, and the building will feature a rooftop deck, according to the Planning Department.

In 2022, Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha, purchased a 4,300-square-foot condominium near Orlando, Florida, for $2.1 million. In 2020, they acquired a 2,800-square-foot condominium on the 30th floor of the Four Seasons Residences at 706 Mission Street in San Francisco for nearly $8 million.

A year earlier, the Currys bought a 7,500-square-foot home at 247 Polhemus Avenue in Atherton for $31 million, which they sold in 2021 for nearly $31.2 million, earning a profit of $150,000.
