Tyler Herro scores 33, Butler adds 25 as the Heat outlast the Hawks 117-111 in 2 OTs

With four of his thirty-three points coming in the second overtime period, Tyler Herro helped the Miami Heat defeat the Atlanta Hawks 117-111 on Tuesday night.

The Heat triumphed for the fifth time in seven games behind the contributions of Nikola Jovic (23 points, 8 rebounds), Jimmy Butler (25 points, 9 assists), and others.

After the victory, Miami’s ranking in the Eastern Conference stayed in eighth place, half a game behind the Philadelphia 76ers.

Erik Spoelstra, the coach of Miami, remarked, “I love it league-wide.” “There are many competitors vying for the same prize in the league. At this point ten years ago, everyone was either resting or tanking. At the moment, this is not the case. All of the feelings that rivalry evokes were brought out by this.

For the Hawks in 49 minutes, Dejounte Murray finished with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists. With 10 rebounds and 23 points, De’Andre Hunter finished.

The Chicago Bulls are ahead of the Hawks by one game in the conference standings.

After missing more than a month due to a foot ailment, Herro played 48 minutes and scored the first four points of the second overtime in just his third game back. He’s a winner, according to Butler. “He’s always prepared to go above and beyond.

You want to get into a groove and take whatever necessary steps to win this time of year.

The Hawks had a 17–5 advantage on the оffensive glass and outscored the Heat 23-2 in second-chance points. However, Atlanta only had two оffensive boards and failed to score any second-chance points over the two overtime minutes.

Butler remarked, “They are an excellent оffensive rebounding team.” “In the end, we got the rebounds and stops we needed, even though I thought we played a respectable first half. It got away from us in the second.”

At the end of the first overtime, Murray missed a 3-point shot that may have won the game.

After a score of 101, the Heat got the last possession of regulation. Butler ran out the clock, setting up a desperate 3-point attempt that Herro poorly missed. In regulation, Butler scored the last ten points for the Heat.

Early on, the Heat had the upper hand, leading by 12 at the break. With a 19–6 surge in the third quarter, the Hawks leveled the score at 75. During the spurt, Hunter possessed nine points. During the run, Jalen Johnson turned his right ankle and made his way back to the locker room. He finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds without coming back.

Terry Rozier (neck) and Duncan Robinson (back) were out for the Heat.

Hawks All-Star Trae Young has not been authorized to play in a game, but he has returned to practice for the first time since undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured ligament in his left fifth finger.
