Terry Rozier III led the Miami Heat to a 119-107 victory over the Washingtоn Wizards on Sunday night, while Bam Adebayo chipped in 22 points.
With 17 more points from Jimmy Butler, the Heat won their second straight. In the bаttle to escape the NBA Play-In Tournament, Miami, which is ranked seventh in the Eastern Conference, moved within half a game of Indiana after shooting 25 of 29 from the free throw line.
Kyle Kuzma, the leading scorer for the Wizards, was sidelined due to a damaged right heel on the evening that Washingtоn’s Jordan Poole scored 22 points and Marvin Bagley III had 12 points and 10 rebounds. After leading the Wizards to a season-best three-game winning streak, Anthony Gill tied a career high with 18 points.
Miami took the lead with a 24-7 run that lasted until halftime, hitting seven 3-pointers, or half of their total for the game. Before the half, Rozier made the last two baskets, with the second giving the Heat their biggest lead of the game at 66-59 at the half.
Early in the third, Robinson added two more 3-pointers, and by the time Rozier and Jovic added two more, the lead had increased to 78-62.
