Jimmy Butler, a player for the Miami Heat, stunneԀ everyone at the media day in front of the current NBA season with his unusual appearance.
Now, same look—straightened hair covering half of his face with heavy eyeliner, giving off an emo vibe—has also been captured on film in a music video.
In Fall Out Boy’s music video for the song “So Much (For) Stardust,” which was released on Thursday, Butler’s alter ego was featured.
Butler looked amazing in a purple bejeweled cowboy costume that he matched well with another purple cowboy. In the video, Pete Wentz, the lone Fall Out Boy member, danced and shimmied as he bobbled his head and lip-synced to Patrick Stump’s vocals.
“@falloutboy X, a tearful Jimmy. The NBA forward said on Instagram, “Does the world want emo Jimmy back?”When “Emo Jimmy” showed up for his first official day of work during the NBA season in October of last year, he had piercings on his nose, mouth, and eye, as well as a peculiar hairdo. His fingers were painted black.
His season-long headshots from that media day are utilized throughout broadcasts.
“At the moment, I’m very sensitive. I enjoy how emo I am right now. Butler said, “This is me,” during the Media Day. “This is how I’ve been feeling lately.”Due to his involvement in the brawl during the Heat’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Butler just served a one-game ban.On Wednesday, he made his comeback, leading Miami to a 106-96 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers with 22 points.
The Heat have now won three straight since the All-Star Break. Last year, despite being the No. 8 seed, they had an incredible run to the playoffs before losing to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
