It’s no secret that Zendaya gets along well with her parents. The well-known actress (Euphoria, Dune, the Spider-Man movies) lived with her mother Claire Stoermer or her divorced father, Oakland native Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, even though she owned multiple homes; the two are still close “homies,” according to Zendaya.
According to records, the 26-year-old has joined A-list celebrities The Rock, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Beyoncé in purchasing residences for their parents, spending $1.9 mιllιon on a house that would be occupied by her father. The grand residence is hidden away in the West Hills district of the San Fernando Valley, close to Woodland Hills and Calabasas, in the far-flung suburbs of Los Angeles.
The two-story home, which was constructed in the 1990s, last traded hands for $1.1 mιllιon in 2008, after which renovations were made. The main level of the house has new hardwood floors and a double-height lobby with walls painted a light periwinkle color.
The formal dining room features French doors leading directly to the pool area, while the living and family rooms each have their own fireplaces. The completely remodeled kitchen, which has eat-in bar seating and is connected to the family area, is distinguished by white quartz counters and dark brown cabinets.
Five bedrooms are spread throughout the approximately 3,400 square foot building, with two located on the ground floor and three upstairs. The master retreat upstairs has a dedicated sitting area, a lavishly renovated bathroom, and a private terrace overlooking the city lights and mountains. I’ve converted one of the downstairs rooms into an office.
A raised spa next to the house’s pool, lush front and backyard landscaping, and a built-in barbecue center with a bar seating area are some of the other outside features. There’s a circular fire pit, ideal for cooking marshmallows on chilly nights, and a covered loggia that provides some outdoor respite from the unbearable heat of the San Fernando Valley. The home is tucked away in a gated community, where $205 monthly HOA dues go to the maintenance of parks-like common spaces and a local security patrol.
In addition to her dad’s fancy new residence, Zendaya has several properties of her own, including a Mediterranean-style home in L.A.’s Northridge district and an apartment in New York City. However, the $4 million dollar hilltop mansion in Encino remains the priciest asset in her inventory.
