We believed that he would become an excellent NBA player, but (after) the first glimpse, we began to believe that he may be much greater. For the first time, we sort of seen glimpses of a man who may end up becoming a showstopper.

Jokic didn’t impress many people outside of Denver in his debut season. Just 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds were his averages each game. Jokic managed to get a position on the NBA All-Rookie First Team despite his less than impressive stats.

In his brief NBA career, Jokic would win several awards, the first of which would be this one. Jokic made his first appearance as an All-Star and was selected to the All-NBA First Team during his fourth NBA season.

Jokic’s real breakthrough season would come in the 2020–21 NBA season. Unusually for a center, he averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game to win the MVP title. 

Jokic created history by becoming the first player in NBA history to average more than 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists over the course of a season, joining Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson. With a field goal percentage of 56.6%, he also became the first player to do it while shooting better than 52%.

Jokic gained attention from fans and even acquired a great moniker, “The Jоker,” because of the similarity of his last nаme. The next season, The Jоker averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game, good for yet another MVP title.

Jokic created further history in his second MVP campaign, as he had the greatest player efficiency rating (32.85) in NBA history during the regular season. Jokic seems to be capable of anything. There was, after all, one thing.

Both observers and fans discussed how Jokic struggled throughout the postseason and how he was unable to help his club win an NBA title. The Nuggets lost in the First Round and the Semifinals during his two MVP seasons.

The Nuggets have advanced as far as the Western Conference Finals of the 2020 Bubble playoffs with Jokic. Despite averaging 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game, Jokic struggled at moments throughout the series as they fell 4-1 to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jokic has just improved during the playoffs. In the NBA Finals, he became the first player in league history to post a triple-double in their first-ever Finals game, and he also established a number of other marks, including the most triple-doubles in a playoff run (ten), and the first-ever game with 30+ points, 20+ rebounds, and 10+ assists.

With 28 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and his first-ever NBA championship, Jokic’s incredible journey came to an end. After averaging 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game throughout the course of the series, The Jоker was named the Finals MVP. The NBA Conference Finals Most Valuable Player Award he received in the previous round goes well with this trophy.

Jokic has had an amazing NBA career in addition to a brilliant career with the Serbian National Team. He earned the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and was voted the tournament MVP in the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
