The NBA All-Star weekend didn’t have many standout moments for fans, but when Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic were together, it was always enjoyable. Both of the superstars turned every moment become a viral video, whether they were on or off the court.
When playing with Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic was questioned after the All-Star game. Jokic answered in a way only he could—one that was very delightfully deadpan.
Luka is awful, Jokic said. “Luka is terrible for this match. I am not as bad as he is. Totally.”
Over the course of the weekend, it became very evident that Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic are the best of friends. The moments they had together on the court will be more than enough, even if Jokic’s response to the media wasn’t enough for you.
On the court, the two seemed to be long-lost brothers who had finally reunited. Acting like enormous man-children, mimicking one other’s movements and taunting one another. It was innocent enough to raise one question in the minds of NBA fans: how would Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic perform together?
To be fair, NBA fans will continue to associate Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic in fantasy leagues until the conclusion of their careers. Although it’s difficult to predict when a pairing will occur, basketball fans everywhere would undoubtedly be delighted.
