Jimmy Butler bids ‘Brother’ Kyle Lowry an emotional farewell before welcoming his new Heat teammate with optimism



Kyle Lowry just found his way out of the Miami Heat after almost three seasons with them. The Heat traded Lowry for Terry Rozier of the Charlotte Hornets before to the trade deadline. Jimmy Butler, the team’s leader, made an emotional opening speech at tonight’s post-game news conference, days after the trade.

The Heat haven’t played well recently, particularly since Lowry left. After their lopsided defeat against the Boston Celtics, they have now lost five straight games. After the game, Butler was barraged with questions from the press. Regarding the Lowry trade, he was questioned by a reporter.

In reply, he said, “That’s my brother.” Our relationship won’t alter because of basketball. The relationship we have with one other’s kids. With him, there’s always a sense of family.

He went on to express his emotions further by adding, “I can call him.” I’m free to drop by his residence whenever I want. He nor I have been defined by basketball. It won’t.

After then, a another reporter inquired about Terry Rozier, his new colleague. “I think it can be a positive thing,” he said. His scoring prowess and leadership qualities are noteworthy. 

Terry Rozier, meanwhile, may provide value to the floundering Heat given his current form. Rozier has averaged a perfect 23.2 points this season while Lowry has only managed 8.2 points. Given the enormous points differential, the Heat may see a significant uptick in the next games.
