Playing basketball, Nikola Jokic seems to see the game like no one else. Other NBA players agree with fans.
3x NBA Champion Javale McGee played with and against Nikola Jokic. McGee told the All The Smoke Podcast about an amazing observation he made while playing with Jokic.
“Real beast,” McGee said. “Man, he has everything. From where is his slow speed coming? He seemed to watch the game slower than us. They think cats see in 60 fps, so as you move, they anticipate your destination. I think he sees in a different frame per second. He’ll euro-step you, wait for you in the air, chuck in the floater, shake you, pump fake, and have no facial emotions. Don’t appear exhausted.”
McGee saw Nikola Jokic’s MVP season’s preparations while on the Denver Nuggets in 2021. Jokic averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists that season. After every game, McGee observed Jokic lift weights, which no one expected.
“After those games, he’ll get 30 and 15, and he’ll go lift after,” McGee. After every game, he lifts heavy. Definitely deserves all the praise.”
It’s apparent that Nikola Jokic has improved his fitness in the last two seasons, despite supporters’ mockery of his weight. Hard work brought it about.
