Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Vin Baker thinks Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are their Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.
Baker told NBA reporter Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson at the Bouncing Back Foundation launch that the Los Angeles Lakers legends and the Antetokounmpo-Lillard tandem were similar.
“I see a Shaq and Kobe dynamic from a talent standpoint,” stated Baker. “We have two NBA top 75 players on our roster, and we also have Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, Pat Connaughton.”
He added: “Dаme and Giannis’ humility fascinates me most everyday, not their skill. You couldn’t have paired two more ideal people—not players. Humility, championship ambition, and extraordinary skill characterize them.
“We’re lucky to have them in Milwaukee. As you heard in the summer, Dаme could’ve gone anywhere—Miami, the other places—but we’re lucky to have one of the best point guards ever.”
Lillard left Portland for Milwaukee in September after 11 seasons. His first 31 Bucks games have averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds.
In his 11th season with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo averages 30.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 11.3 rebounds.
