Antetokounmpo, Middleton help Bucks pull away from short-handed Nets

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, Khris Middleton had 27 points and 10 assists, and the Milwaukee Bucks beаt a preseason-like Brooklyn Nets squad 144-122 on Wednesday.

After a win in Detroit that extended the Pistons’ losing run to 27, an NBA single-season record, the Nets rested three starters and hardly played two others.

Their youngsters and two-way guys battled for three quarters before the Bucks sealed the deal.

Cameron Payne and Malik Beasley both scored five 3-pointers to help the Bucks reach 10-2 in December. They won two games in their three-game holiday trip in New York after losing to the Knicks on Christmas.

Beasley had 17 points and Payne 18 off the bench. Bobby Portis scored 14 and the Bucks shot 23/51 (45%) from deep.

Rookie Jalen Wilson scored 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Nets. Noah Clowney and Dennis Smith Jr. both had 14 points, while Trendon Watford had 17.
