Center Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat recently said that he thinks Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic is the league’s hardest player to defend.
Even though Bam Adebayo, an All-Star for the Miami Heat, is seen as one of the best big me𝚗 in the NBA, he knows that Nikola Jokic is better.
The Heat lost to Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals last year. Adebayo was recently on “The OGs,” a podcast by former Heat players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.
Miller asked Adebayo, “Right now, who is the hardest player in the league to guard?”
He answered, “Gotta be big fella, the Serbian.”
Haslem added, “Man, that (expletive) is not real, bro.” “That guy needs my glasses off because he doesn’t jump or run fast. You can’t speed him up or move him like I don’t know.”
“But then the thing that I am most like about him is like he don’t flop, and I ain’t saying, like you know, guys try to sell calls, but other than that, he not trying to get 16-17 free throws,” Adebayo stated. “No, he trying to get buckets.”
During the Finals, Jokic showed off all of his skills by averaging 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 58.3 percent shooting. Not in a normal way, the two-time MVP is powerful. Instead, he lives on making plays and having unique attacking skills.
Adebayo is a great defender, but Jokic’s never-ending list of moves is almost too much for him to handle.Anthony Pasciolla writes for Inside the Heat as a contributor.
