To beаt the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas, the Miami Heat won 119–113.
Here are five important things to remember:
1. Jaime Jaquez Jr. showcased his potential.
Jaquez had the best game of his young career and is one of the most exciting players in the NBA. At the end of the game, he had 31 points, 10 boards, two steals, and had made 73.3 percent of his shots. For the Rookie of the Year award, Jaquez would be a strong prоspect if it weren’t for the older players who are also in the running.
2. Tyrese Maxey is not ready to act as a No. 1 option.
Maxey had a hard time in every way without big Joel Embiid by his side. He scored 12 points, had five assists, and shot only 4/20 for the game. He’s one of the league’s best players this season, but as the first choice, he doesn’t have much experience.
3. Bam Adebayo was a force on both ends of the floor.
Even though Jaquez’s effort wasn’t as good as Adebayo’s, it was still impressive. He made 60% of his shots and scored 26 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, gave five assists, and blocked three shots. The Miami big and Tyler Herro had the most mistakes on the team with four each. Philadelphia’s Mo Bamba scored 18 points, but Adebayo was out most of the time and many of those points came from him.
4. Philadelphia cannot compete without Embiid.
Without their star player, teams almost never have a chance to win. In December, the 76ers’ team MVP is scoring 40.2 points per game. When Embiid wasn’t playing, the Sixers were only able to put up average scoring. But they didn’t have the dаnger that his presence gives them on both ends.
5. Herro displayed efficiency struggles.
After a string of great efforts, Herro had a bad night. At the end of the night, he had 22 points, six boards, and five assists. But he only made 32% of his shots and only made 4 out of 11 three-point shots.
