It just got even better for the young fan: Felipe, Zoe, and their family just met Jimmy Butler in real life!!
On Wednesday, the fan went back to Miami-Dade Arena and spent time with #22 taking pictures, swapping gifts, and checking out the arena.
Crawford shared pictures of the exchange and wrote, “There’s so much more to the game than wins and losses. @jimmybutler is such a good guy.” This is the point!! “
One fan from Argentina went all the way to Miami to see his favorite player, Jimmy Butler. After Butler got hurt and couldn’t play, the Heat made the fan’s feаr come true by giving him a signed ball and a shirt.
A 12-year-old fan named Felipe was seen with a big sign that said, “Dear Jimmy: We flew over 4,405 miles to see you play.” “Can we get a picture or a big face coffee? ;)” before the game, but Butler hurt his back and couldn’t play.
Videos caught the young fan and his sister Zoe as they learned Jimmy would not be playing in Tuesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics. It’s heartbreaking.
But there is a great finish to this story: Butler and the Heat heard about the kid’s situation and chose to give him an even better time.
The Heat gave the fan a signed Miami Heat basketball and a new Butler Nike Mashup Vol. 2 Authentic shirt. They also let him take a picture with Heat point guard Gabe Vincent on the court!!
In response to the act, Butler wrote on his Instagram story, next to a picture of the exchange, “I got you.”
Of course, Butler always looks out for his fans. TNT’s Jamal Crawford said he’s not at all surprised that the All-Star went above and beyond for one of his fans because he’s always done that.
Great move, Jimmy.
