The world was shocked when news of Bryant’s quick deаth came out on Sunday. On Monday, James posted on Instagram about the terrible event, remembering his boss, brother, and friend. “Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship/bond/brotherhood we had,” he said. As a lasting tribute to Bryant, the NBA star recently showed off a detailed tattoo by artist Vanessa Aurelia on the inside of his upper leg. It shows Bryant’s nickname, “Black Mamba,” along with roses and the numbers “24” and “8,” which he wore on his shirts. Below the picture is writing that only says “Mamba 4 Life.”

James (@kingjames) shared this on January 31, 2020, at 4:21 p.m. PST.

The first slide in the gallery shows the two of them sitting next to each other on the court, with James’ head resting on Bryant’s shoulder. Along with the picture, James wrote, “My brother #Mamba4Life #RIPKobe #RIPGiGi.” This is a very moving tribute to both Bryant and his daughter Gigi, who is known as “Mambacita” because she loves basketball. Since James has known the Bryant family for a long time, this is likely not the last tattoo ode to the late sports hero. However, it is one of the most powerful.
