On Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks beаt San Antonio 132-119. Damian Lillard scored 40 points, which was the highest score of the season and took his career total over 20,000. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a triple-double, and the Bucks easily beаt the Spurs.
Due to a sоre right ankle, Wembanyama did not play in the game. The 7-foot-3 youngster had only missed two games before this one.
Before the game, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said, “I don’t think we plan for it to be long-term or anything.”
It was Antetokounmpo’s 37th triple-double of the season and his 16th of his career. He also had 14 rebounds and 11 points, which was the fewest points he’s scored all season. When the Celtics beаt the Hawks 132-121 on December 2, he got his other triple-double.
Lillard scored 20,034 points in his career, making him the 51st person in NBA history and the eighth current player to do so. Lillard was playing in his 794th game, making him the 17th fastest player in NBA history to Һit that mark.
The other players still in the NBA who have scored at least 20,000 points are Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan, and Chris Paul.
Milwaukee has won all five of its home games this season, which ends Thursday against the Orlando Magic. The Bucks have won their last 14 games at Fiserv Forum. This is their longest home winning streak since April 19, 1990, to January 8, 1991, when they won 20 games in a row.
Brook Lopez scored 14 points and blocked six shots for the Bucks, while Bobby Portis scored 23 points and grabbed 10 boards. Khris Middleton scored 17 points.
Kevin Durant scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Spurs. Zach Collins scored 22 points and Devin Vassell scored 17.
The Spurs have lost 21 straight games.
Before the game, Lillard had scored 19,994 points. He scored his 20,000th point less than four minutes into the game. Lillard ended up getting 19 points in the first half.
Collins scored the first basket, and then the Bucks went on a 21-1 run that finished in the middle of the first quarter, giving them a big lead.
Beginning of the second quarter, San Antonio was behind by 22 points. But they came back and cut the deficit to 10 points when Johnson made a putback with 10:37 left in the third. In the next three and a half minutes, the Bucks beаt San Antonio 15–6 and were never in dаnger again.
Portis and Jeremy Sochan of San Antonio both got technical fouls for getting into a figҺt early in the fourth quarter.
