Lamorne Morris spent $3.1 million for a recently built estate in the Tarzana neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley towards the end of 2018. He told People in a video tour that he planned to stay there “for quite some time” after adding his own unique elements to the contemporary Spanish-inspired home a little over a year later.
The 38-year-old comedian and actor, who gained popularity for playing Winston in the popular sitcom “New Girl,” has since had second thoughts. He has since relisted the house for $5.4 million, a significant increase in price.
Although the asking price is approximately $2.8 million more than what Morris originally paid for the home, he and his close companion Morgan Cleary renovated the property extensively during his tenure. In particular, he added a basketball court and low-maintenance, environmentally favourable grass to the backyard.
While he was there, Morris and his close friend Morgan Cleary made significant renovations to the house, which is why the asking price is about $2.8 million higher than what he originally bought. Specifically, he upgraded the backyard with a low-maintenance, environmentally friendly grass and a basketball court.
A double-height foyer leads to an entertainment-ready living room with a coffered ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, among other features. A family room flanked by a dining room with a wet bar and glass wine cabinet connects to a gourmet kitchen with dual islands, first-rate appliances and a breakfast alcove with a window. Through Fleetwood sliding glass doors, the entire room transitions seamlessly into an alfresco dining area.
Upstairs, a den awaits, along with a luxurious master suite with a balcony, walk-in closet, and marble-clad bathroom featuring dual vanities, a steam shower, a soaking tub, and a wood sauna box; creature comforts continue outdoors, where the resort-like backyard features a pool and spa along with a bar-equipped poolhouse and lounge area with a fire pit. Additionally, there is a barbecue centre and the previously mentioned basketball half-court.
