When you go on your next sailing vacation, take a trip aboard the historic vessel that was formerly owned by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor to experience the glitz and glitter of bygone Hollywood.
The opulent superyacht, known as Kalizma, set sail for the first time in 1906.
The 45-meter (148-foot) warship was used by the Royal Navy to fight in both World Wars before being welcomed into the world of celebrities and housing A-list friends and royal family of Taylor and Burton.
In the most recent chapter in the colorful life of the boat, SamBoat, a yacht rental company, is offering her for charter.
From her base in Valletta, Malta, Kalizma can be rented for €19,300 (£16,400/$20,800) with a skipper in tow.

SamBoat, a boat rental company, is now offering the boat for charter. Taylor and Burton are pictured above, aboard in 1968.
Built by Scottish boat builders Ramage and Ferguson, the vessel was initially ordered by a businessman as a private yacht.
The yacht, which was then known as HMS Minona, was a part of the British Royal Navy’s Auxiliary Patrol Fleet during World War One. She was utilized as a base ship for the Deep Sea Rescue Service in Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, during World War Two, nearly two decades later.
According to the boat’s brochure, Taylor and Richard, a well-known couple who were married and then divorced twice, chartered the vessel in 1967 for a voyage to the western Mediterranean.
During the cruise, the Hollywood actors, who co-starred in the films Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1966) and Cleopatra (1963), “fell in love” with the boat. After that, they bought it and called it Kalizma in honor of their three children, Kate, Liza, and Maria.

Tennessee Williams, an American playwright, and Prince Rainier III were two of the VIP visitors whom Taylor and Burton entertained on the ship.
The boat “was a haven away from the prying eyes of the media and the world,” according to the brochure for the vessel.
The couple later hosted VIP visitors on the ship, including American poet Tennessee Williams and Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco.
According to the boat’s brochure, this probably helped her earn the title of “one of the greatest superyachts in Hollywood history.”
