Shaquille O’Neal has admitted that he dropped to 351 pounds during the summer, but the basketball player says that his road toward fitness is far from over.
The legendary Los Angeles Lakers player revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he had just shed a staggering 55 pounds, which is just six more than when he and Kobe Bryant won their first NBA title in 2000.
Shaq predicted that he will score between 315 and 330 points while also calling his NBA on TNT coworker Charles Barkley “fat” and claiming that he sets “crazy goals” for himself.
‘I was getting chubby and couldn’t even walk up the stairs. I didn’t like the way I looked in the mirror. I was like, ”I’m gonna lose 20” and then I was trying to lose 20,’ Shaq further said.
The 51-year-old is also going through a drastic diet change, joking that he currently owns a ‘little 4.9 pack’ but that his ultimate goal is to get ‘an eight pack.’

Shaq previously stated in December that he wants to prioritize his health. He had already lost 40 pounds at the time and expressed a desire to continue losing weight after receiving the results of some illuminating blood tests, which made him want to be thinner over the coming years.
At the time, Shaq told ET, “I got a couple people involved; it’s all about eating right.” I had some blood work done after a friend of mine called and told me, “You’re fat,” and she provided me the name of a doctor who could perform the necessary tests. Because I was the athlete, I wasn’t a salad eater. I won’t give a damn about any of that. I don’t give a damn about any of that.
